Lenstip.com har anmeldt Tamron SP AF 10-24 mm f/3.5-4.5 Di II LD Aspherical (IF) – et vidvinkel objektiv fra Tamron med en brændvidde på 10-24mm.

The first wave of ultra wide-angle variable focal length lenses designed for smaller sensors of APS-C/DX and 4/3 format appeared in the years 2004-2005. That’s when we saw Nikkor 12-24 mm, Canon 10-22 mm, Pentax and Tokina 12-24 mm, Sigma 10-20 mm, Tamron 11-18 mm or Olympus 7-14 mm.

After a few years’ break ultra wide-angle variable focal length lenses come back in another wave, this time with better light-gathering power, often with wider range and better optical characteristics. The last few months have brought premiers like Tokina 11-16 mm f/2.8, Olympus 9-18 mm, Sigma 10-20 mm f/3.5 or Tamron 10-24 mm to us.

As a matter of fact, it’s Tamron that should care about introducing another lens in this class. The 11-18 mm model not only had the narrowest range of focal lengths among the competitors and was the slowest, but also performed the worst in optical categories, which was clearly indicated in our test of this lens. The company drew conclusions and, at the beginning of 2008, announced the introduction of a new lens of 10-24 mm focal length range and the aperture f/3.5-4.5 on the market.

In the last quarter of the year 2008 the lens appeared in shops in Poland. Now it is time for the final test of this instrument. It was possible thanks to the Foto-Technika company, which lent us this lens. We’re inviting you to the reading.
