Canon continues to be successful with its compact cameras, as it has been for many years now. One after the other camera is developed and introduced, often proving a leading factor for the rest of the digital camera market. Still, Canon must have noticed that the competition is fierce and that it is becoming gradually more difficult to stand out. Increasing the amount of pixels is no longer interesting; however, a new model does need a sales-push somehow.

It is obvious that the image quality remains of great importance, but as long as a manufacturer does not run wild, you won’t have to worry about that as a consumer. However, it is a different ballgame where user-friendliness, speed and other points of ease are concerned. Nowadays, there are many innovative functions integrated in a standard camera, although they are not always swift or easy to operate.
